Suzanne Vega An Evening of New York Songs and Stories è nuovo disco di Suzanne Vega

Tra le icone della musica contemporanea, Suzanne Vega annuncia la pubblicazione di An Evening of  New York Songs and Stories, il nuovo album in arrivo l’1 maggio (Cooking Vinyl) ed una serie di primi appuntamenti live in UK ed in Europa. La prima anticipazione tratta dal nuovo album è la sua personale rivisitazione del celebre brano di Lou Reed Walk on the Wild Side, disponibile da oggi su tutte le piattaforme digitali.

Registrato al famoso Cafè Carlyle a New York agli inizi del 2019, An Evening of New York Songs and Stories contiene i più noti brani del vasto repertorio di Suzanne Vega riproposti in veste live, da Luka a Tom’s Diner e tracce precedentemente scartate tra cui Frank and Ava e Ludlow Street.

Sul palco insieme a Suzanne Vega, i collaboratori di lunga data Gerry Leonard alla chitarra, Jeff Allen al basso e Jamie Edwards alle tastiere. Il disco è stato prodotto da Gerry Leonard, mixato da Kevin Killen e masterizzato da Bob Ludwig.

“It is always a pleasure to play at the Café Carlyle in New York City, where this album was recorded. It is a small exclusive club that has hosted legends from Eartha Kitt to Judy Collins, and is also known to be the place where Jackie Kennedy met Audrey Hepburn. I love it for its bohemian old-world glamour! I decided it would be fun to perform a New York-themed show there. I included songs that were inspired by New York City or for which New York provided the backdrop, and also one by my late, great friend, Lou Reed, - Walk on the Wild Side - a song I rarely heard him sing himself.”  afferma Suzanne Vega.
