Pentagle Il Box dei Pentagle in arrivo via Cherry Red Records il 6 Ottobre

La Cherry Red pubblica un bel  cofanetto di 7 CD che raccoglie i 6 album del gruppo incisi per la Transatlantic Records più uno per la Reprise Records incisi fra il 1968 ed il 1972, in occasione del 50° anniversario della nascita della band, avvenuta appunto nel 1967, ed intitolato Pentangle – The Albums 1968-1972.

Nel corso degli ultimi anni ai Pentangle sono state dedicate diverse ristampe, fra le quali giova citare lo splendido box da 4 CD The Time Has Come, pubblicato nel 2007 dalla Castle Music, che già negli anni 2000 aveva pubblicato tutte le ristampe, rimasterizzate e potenziate da bonus tracks, dei 6 album registrati dalla band nel periodo classico 1968-1972, gli anni della formazione originale: Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Jacqui McShee, Danny Thompson e Terry Cox. Di recente, a seguito della scomparsa prima di Jansch e poi di Renbourn c’è stato un grande interesse per questo basilare ed iconico quintetto, una delle band seminali del revival del British Folk, ma anche una delle più grandi della scena musicale inglese
